11.68% 2002 Gilt Dealt For Rs 60 Cr

Dull trading continued on the National Stock Exchange's (NSE) wholesale debt market. It recorded 35 trades and a volume of Rs 270.45 crore yesterday.

The day saw one trade in the treasury bills segment, while bonds of MTNL were traded for Rs 5 crore and that of Tamil Nadu was traded for Rs 15.25 crore. Unlike other trading days, the government securities with varying maturities were traded.

The 11.55 government loan maturing in 2001 saw seven trades for Rs 90 crore. The paper was traded at a weighted average yield of 11.51 per cent and was traded in the Rs 100-100.03 band.

The 11.68 per cent gilt maturing in 2002 witnessed seven trades for Rs 60 crore. The paper was dealt at a weighted average yield of 11.65 per cent and at a price of Rs 100. The 12.22 gilt maturing in 2008 saw three trades for Rs 24 crore and at a weighted average yield of 12.15 per cent, while the 12.50 government paper maturing in 2007 was traded for Rs 10 crore and at a weighted average yield of 12.12 per cent.

The six per cent government capital index bond maturing in 2002 saw three trades for Rs 11 crore and at a weighted average yield of 13.89 per cent.
