12.59% Govt Paper Draws Rs 50 Crore

The Wholesale Debt Market segment at the National Stock Exchange clocked a volume of Rs 226.95 crore of which treasury bills contributed to a volume of Rs 40 crore. The day also saw two repo trades worth Rs 24 crore being concluded for a term of 14 days at the rate of 7.75 per cent.

The newly issued 11.55 per cent government loan maturing on 2001 was traded at a premium recording eight trades and contributing to a volume of Rs 50 crore.

The paper was traded at the weighted average yield of 11.47 per cent and traded in the range of Rs 100.14 and Rs 100.16. The day saw several trades concluded for the tax-free bonds floated by companies like IRFC, MTNL and PFC.

The 9 per cent bonds of IRFC maturing on 2001 saw four trades and volume of Rs 5 crore. The paper was traded at the weighted average yield of 10.31 per cent and priced at Rs 96.25.

The 13.62 per cent government loan maturing on 1998 saw a bulk deal for Rs 29 crore.

The paper was traded at the yield of 8.26 per cent and was priced at Rs 100.33.

The zero per cent government loan maturing on 1999 was traded for Rs 20 crore at the weighted average yield of 9.94 per cent.
