The whole sale debt segment of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) witnessed trades worth Rs 611.13 crore yesterday. Corporate debentures contributed only Rs 2.29 crore to the total volume.
The 12.59 per cent paper maturing in 2004 cornered most of the action.

The security was traded for Rs 95 crore at a weighted average yield of 12.33 per cent.
Another security, the 13.50 per cent 1998, was dealt for Rs 110 at 8.76 per cent It was traded for Rs 110 crore during the day.
The 12.14 per cent 2000 recorded trades worth Rs 45 crore at 11.24 per cent. The 12.5 per cent 2004 was also struck deals worth Rs 55 crore at a weighted average yield of 12.26 per cent.
In the treasury bills segment, 364-days treasury bills maturing on 24 April, 1998 was traded for Rs 60 crore at 8.40 per cent yield.
Not much activity was reported in corporate debentures, save for Reliance Petro that was traded for Rs 2.15 crore.
The counter witnessed a total of 507 trades. Others like IDBI Deep Discount 2021 recorded 35 trades, totalling Rs 4.84 lakh.
MRPL 2002 and Ranbaxy 2001 also contributed marginally to the total volume.
