13.85% Paper Dealt For Rs 30 Crore

NSE REPORT

The wholesale debt segment (WDM) at the National Stock Exchange (NSE) witnessed active trading with traded volume touching Rs 325.32 crore. The treasury bills segment of the bourse contributed Rs 148 crore to the volume. The corporate debenture sector witnessed 564 trades and a volume of Rs 5.48 crore.

The prices of securities crushed yesterday on account of rising premium in the forwards of foreign exchange market, said a broker on NSE.

The treasury bill maturing on April 10 was in demand and saw trades worth Rs 85 crore. The paper was traded at a weighted average yield of 13.39 per cent. It touched a high of Rs 97.90 and closed at a low of Rs 97.39.

The 13 85 per cent government loan maturing in 2006 was traded for Rs 30 crore at a weighted average yield of 12.55 per cent. The paper was traded at the high of Rs 106.75 and closed at Rs 106.48.

The 15 per cent bond of MTNL saw a bulk trade worth Rs 20 crore at a weighted yield of 14.95 per cent. The two bonds of ICICI maturing in April and May were traded for Rs 5 crore, each at a weighted average yield of 14 per cent.
