Worst dressed golfers |
Golf fashion expert Chris Davison has declared South African golfers as the worst dressed in the world. He added that those from KwaZulu-Natal led the way in being the worst. |
Meanwhile, on the South African Tour, Vodacom has sponsored six tournaments and started the 'Origins of Golf Tour' as a way of improving fashion on the greens in South Africa. |
The cellular company has sponsored six events and each one of them will be a R 300 000, 54-hole event. The tournaments will be played in a pro-am format. Each event will also have golf personality Dale Hayes delivering a 15-minute history of the game's origins. |
Fuhr fails to qualify |
Grant Fuhr, the National (Ice) Hockey League's Hall of Fame goaltender, failed to qualify for the professional Canadian Golf Tour because of an incorrect scorecard. |
Fuhr, a five-time Stanley Cup champion and who entered the Hockey Hall of Fame last year, looked like he made the card after several near misses. |
He signed for a 72-hole score of 293 at the Canadian Tour's Qualifying School, which was good for the 13th place. |
But he was disqualified when it was discovered that his card said he shot a 76 in an earlier round when he had shot 77. Fuhr's card showed a par for 17th when he actually had a bogey. Bogeyman |
