Bajaj Seen Playing Key Role At Assocham

A section of Asso-cham officials see this as a prelude to an active role to be played by him in the affairs of the chamber.

Bajaj, however, did not attach much importance to the development when contacted in Pune. He said he would not be active in Assocham. I have friends in Assocham and since I was in Delhi during their annual general meeting, I decided to drop in. But I will not play an active role in Assocham.

Bajaj is a former president of the CII. He has, of late, been vocal on the CIIs stance on foreign direct investment and had suggested caps on foreign equity participation in certain sectors of industry.

However, his views did not find many takers in the CII.

A senior Asso-cham member said Bajaj could play a vital role in getting the three apex chambers together on a common platform on issues that affect the industry.
