With the Budget Session of Parliament having extended by three days from May 17, there possibility of the States' reorganisation Bills in relation to creation of separate Jharkhand, Uttaranchal and Chhattisgarh being discussed and passed in the current session has increased. There is a possibility that the government might consider taking up the women's reservation Bill.
All the three states' reorganisation Bills have been returned by the respective state Assemblies of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh and the Cabinet also cleared them last week. The government has accepted the demand of Uttarakhand MPs and included the entire Haridwar district including the Kumbh Mela area into the new state.
