As an increasing number of people are upgrading from basic handests to smartphones and 'phablets', and this trend is likely to only increase in the years to come. If the findings of a study conducted by Ericsson are anything to go by, 90 per cent of the world's population above six years of age will own smartphones by the year 2020. Of the total subscriptions, 85 per cent will be for mobile broadband services.
