No sex (appeal) please, we are Indians. From the next Auto Expo onwards, wheels may not be overshadowed by legs like they have been this year. The Confederation of Indian Industry(CII) is contemplating enforcing a dress code more in tune with Indian ethics.
Confederation of Indian Industry has taken serious note of the parallel show of flesh at this years fair. We do not need sex to sell cars, Pran Talwar, chairman of CIIs trade fairs committee, said yesterday.
Talwar indicated that CII, which has organised the exhibition with Association of Indian Automobile Manufacturers and Automotive Components Manufacturers Association of India, may go in for a dress code that would pull the hemlines lower and the cleavages upward.

The dress code would be in conformity with the Indian tradition, said Talwar.
The apex industry chambers reaction comes in the wake of reports that more than cars, it is the curves that are on display at Auto Expo 98.
More so as the Japanese, Korean and some Western auto majors attempting forays into the Indian market have been using the leg space of the 25-years-kind to lure visitors at a time when the country is going through a period of recession in the Indian market.
