DPSC to commission 220/33 KV substation in West Bengal

DPSC Limited (formerly known as Dishergarh Power Supply Company Ltd), developing a 220/33 KV substation at JK Nagar in Burdwan district of West Bengal. The project, entailing a investment of around RS 117 crore, is expected to be completed by next year.

DPSC on behalf of West Bengal State Electricity Transmission Company Limited (WBSETCL) shall construct the entire Transmission Line that is expected to be commissioned in year 2013-14.

"This project will further help in strengthening our T&D network, which is already considered one of the best by all industry standards. On commissioning of the substation, power will be available at the door step at Raniganj and adjourning areas which will attract set up of new industry in the coal belt and improve the industrial foot print in the State of West Bengal,"said company chairman, Hemant Kanoria..

The transmission network along with sub distribution system will be capable to deliver around 250 MVA of power from grid and additional power from other sources after completion of the entire project.
