"The election situation has made it very difficult to go ahead. There is virtually no government with which we can negotiate our demands. But we have not cancelled the programme. We will go for the agitation immediately after the elections," Centre for Indian Trade Unions general secretary M K Pandhe said. CITU is a prominent member of CPSTU.

"In fact, unions in the major PSUs in Hyderabad and Banglore want to go on an indefinite strike immediately after the elections. There is also a lot of pressure from coal sector workers to go in for strike. We have a major struggle ahead with the next government because the interest of the workers have been neglected for very long," Pandhe said.
