Groundnut oil declined further while most of the other edible oils ruled easy-to-steady at the wholesale oils and oilseeds market yesterday.
Groundnut oil declined by Rs 19 to Rs 433 per 10 kg on sluggish demand backed by brisk arrivals mainly from the Southern states and Gujarat.
With the end of festival season, the demand was slack.

Castor oil commercial and BSS declined by Rs 5 each to Rs 430 and Rs 442 per 10 kg, respectively. Sesame oil firmed up by Rs 5 to Rs 460 per 10 kg.
Cottonseed oil refined and karanji oil eased by Rs 2 each to Rs 393 and Rs 250 per 10 kg, respectively.
Imported palmolein eased by Rs 2 to Rs 369 per 10 kg.
In the futures market, December contract opened Re 1 lower at Rs 1,640 a quintal and closed at Rs 1641 a quintal, on speculative movements.
Kardiseeds recovered and firmed up by Rs 50 at Rs 1,950 a quintal on better industrial demand coupled with limited inflows. Castorseeds Madras and Maharashtra fell by Rs 24 each to Rs 1,968 and Rs 1,962 a quintal, respectively.
Sugar: An easy-to-subdued trend was noticed in sugar prices. S-30 grade eased to Rs 1,450-1,475 against its previous level of Rs 1,455-1,477 a quintal on dull consumer demand.
M-30 declined further to Rs 1,470-1,530 a quintal against its previous level of Rs 1,475-1,530.
Sugar for the check-post deliveries quoted higher at Rs 1,435-1,445 a quintal for S-30 grade and Rs 1,455-1,465 a quintal for M-30 grade.
Non-ferrous metals : A mixed trend was witnessed in the local non-ferrous metals market. Virgin metals ruled firm while virgin metals ruled easy to steady.
In the scraps section, copper utensils and brass utensils improved by 50 paise and 25 paise to Rs 90.75 and Rs 84.50 a kg, respectively.
Brass sheetcuttings eased by 75 paise to Rs 85 a kg.
Aluminium utensils ruled overall steady and were nominally quoted at Rs 63.50 a kg, on narrow movements.
In virgin metals, zinc slabs and lead ingots eased further by 50 paise each to Rs 73.50 and Rs 44 a kg, respectively, on dull industrial offtake against easy arrivals. Other metals ruled overall steady and were nominally quoted as under : copper wirebar Rs 113.50, aluminium ingots Rs 86, tin slabs Rs 382 and nickel cathodes Rs 251 a kg, respectively, on narrow movements.
Bullion: Quiet conditions prevailed at the local bullion market. Silver .999 ruled overall steady at Rs 7,550 a kg on steady overseas advices backed by subdued offtake.
Silver .916 eased by Rs 15 to Rs 7,400 a kg on subdued industrial demand.
Standard gold and 22 carat gold ruled overall steady and quoted Rs 4305 and Rs 3,980 per 10 grams, respectively, on quiet overseas advices coupled with subdued demand.
Gold biscuits prices also ruled overall steady and were nominally quoted at Rs 50,400 per piece of gold biscuit on steady movements.
