State-owned chemicals maker, Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals Ltd (GACL) has registered 21 per cent dip in the net profit for the quarter ended March 31, 2012 at Rs 44.21 crore against Rs 55.99 crore in the corresponding period previous year.
The company has registered net sales of Rs 422.12 crore for the quarter, up by 5.3 per cent from Rs 400.72 crore in the same period previous year. For the financial year ended March 31, 2012 company's net sales stood at Rs 1,698.22 crore against Rs 1,423.17 crore in the previous year.
Profit after tax for the fiscal increased by 34.38 per cent at Rs 153.61 crore as compared with Rs 114.31 crore of the previous year, the company informed in a statement issued on Thursday. The results were announced at the meeting of board of directors held on Thursday.
