Groundnut oil ruled overall steady on subdued demand coupled with modest arrivals from producing centres. Whereas other industrial oils ruled easy-to-steady at the wholesale oils and oilseeds market, Turbhe, Navi Mumbai yesterday. Imported palmolein ruled firm on limited arrivals. In futures section, both the contracts remained closed on account of Guru Nanak Jayanti.
Groundnut oil quoted at Rs 343 per 10 kg on subdued industrial as well consumer demand. Arrivals remained modest from the producing centres at around 90 tonne a day.
In other oils, mowra oil and coconut oil white improved by Rs 5 and Rs 35 to Rs 235 and Rs 580 per 10 kg on improved industrial demand coupled with limited inflows. Kardi oil and sunflower oil expeller eased by Rs 3 and Rs 2 to Rs 325 and Rs 298 per 10 kg respectively on reduced industrial demand coupled with better arrivals from the producing centres. Imported palmolein firmed up by Re 1 at Rs 271 per 10 kg on better industrial demand. Meanwhile, majority of other oils ruled overall steady on narrow movements.

In oilseeds, groundnuts karad bold and saurashtra bold improved by Rs 20 each to Rs 1,880 and Rs 1,900 per quintal respectively on improved industrial demand coupled with limited availability. Meanwhile, all the other oilseeds ruled overall steady on narrow movements.
Sugar: Sugar recovered at reduced level at the wholesale sugar market at Turbhe yesterday. Both the grades of sugar ruled slightly firm. The undertone of the market remained weak.
Sugar S-30 firmed up to Rs 1,491/1,520 from the previous level of Rs 1,482/1,502 a quintal on better consumer demand coupled with normal arrivals. Sugar M-30 ruled firm at Rs 1,528/1,570 against the previous level of Rs 1,505/1,538 a quintal on modest offtake and subdued arrivals. Non-ferrous metals: A steady-to-easy trend was noticed in the local non-ferrous market yesterday. Both the metals ruled overall steady. The undertone of the market was weak.
In scraps section, all the metals ruled overall steady and were nominally quoted as under - copper heavy scraps Rs 112.50, copper utensils Rs 100.50, brass utensils Rs 86, brass sheetcuttings Rs 94 and aluminium utensils Rs 62.50 a kg on narrow movements.
In virgin section, all the metals indicated a steady trend and were nominally quoted as under - copper wirebar Rs 125, aluminium ingots Rs 82.50, zinc slabs Rs 76, lead ingots Rs 41, tin slabs Rs 311 and nickel cathodes Rs 311 per kg respectively on narrow movements.
