Groundnut oil continued to move up at reduced levels while other industrial oils ruled easy-to-subdued at the wholesale oils and oilseeds market, Turbhe, Navi Mumbai yesterday.
Imported palmolein ruled easy on subdued demand as against modest arrivals. In the futures section, castorseeds September contract opened higher but eased towards closing.
Groundnut oil improved by Rs at Rs 358 per 10 kg on restricted arrivals due to heavy rainfall in Gujarat, the groundnut producing state.

The demand remained better. Arrivals were put at around 80 tonnes a day.
In other oils, sesame oil and neem oil improved by Rs 5 each to Rs 285 and Rs 170 per 10 kg on better industrial demand coupled with limited arrivals.
Copra oil white declined by Rs 5 at Rs 545 per 10 kg on reduced industrial offtake, whereas sunflower oil eased by Rs 5 to Rs 270 per 10 kg on dull demand from the industrial sectors coupled with better availability.
In futures, castorseed September contract opened Re 1 higher at Rs 1141 and firmed up to Rs 1143 a quintal. It declined and closed at Rs 1136.50.
Sugar: An easy-to-subdued trend was noticed at the wholesale sugar market in Navi Mumbai yesterday.
Sugar of small grade eased while that of medium grade ruled slightly firm. The demand remained subdued on account of heavy rains in the city. The undertone of the market was not firm.
Sugar S-30 grade eased to Rs 1465/1480 as against the previous level of Rs 1470/1490 a quintal on reduced demand coupled with better availability. While sugar M-30 improved to Rs 1495/1532 as against of the previous level of Rs 1485/1540 a quintal on subdued offtake.
Sugar for the check-post deliveries were quoted low at Rs 1440/1455 a quintal for S-30 and Rs 1465/1485 for the M-30 grade.
Non-ferrous Metals : A steady trend was noticed in the local non-ferrous market yesterday. The demand remained subdued.
In the virgin section, copper wirebars eased by 25 paise at Rs 138.50 a kg on easy demand and better inflows. All the other metals ruled overall steady and were nominally quoted as under : Aluminium ingots Rs 77, zinc slabs Rs 81.50, lead ingots Rs 41.25, tin slabs Rs 296 and nickel cathodes Rs 343 a kg, respectively on narrow movements.
In the scraps section, all the metals ruled overall steady and were nominally quoted as under : Copper heavy scraps Rs 129, copper utensils Rs 116, brass utensils Rs 98, brass sheetcuttings Rs 102.50 and aluminium utensils Rs 60 per kg respectively on narrow movements.
Bullion : A rally continued in the local bullion market yesterday. Both the precious metals ruled weak.
In yellow metals, standard gold and 22 carat gold declined further by Rs 15 each to Rs 4335 and Rs 4,010 per 10 grammes respectively on dull demand coupled with weak overseas advices. Gold biscuits prices also declined further by Rs 200 at Rs 50,700 per piece of 10 tolas.
In white metals, silver .999 and .916 declined by Rs 55 each to Rs 6405 and Rs 6305 a kg respectively on sluggish industrial demand coupled with brisk arrivals and weak overseas advices. Delhi advices indicated a weak trend.
