Groundnut oil declined by Rs 2 at Rs 358 per 10 kg yesterday on dull demand coupled with modest arrivals of stock. Castor oil commercial and FSG qualities also dropped by Rs 8 each to Rs 380 and Rs 392 per 10 kg, respectively, on dull industrial offtake.
Karanji oil eased by Re 1 at Rs 177 a kg on easy availability of ready stock while imported soy oil refined firmed up by Re 1 to Rs 222 per 10 kg on modest industrial enquires.
Castorseeds June 2000 contract opened Rs 3 lower at Rs 1,796 a quintal and stayed quiet at the same level throughout the trading session. September contract opened Rs 48 lower at Rs 1,810 a quintal and remained steady at the same level. Castor oil international contract April 2000 ruled steady after opening Rs 7 lower at Rs 400 per 10 kg.

Castorseeds declined further by Rs 40 at Rs 1,750 per quintal on dull demand. Nigerseeds looked up further by Rs 25 at Rs 2,350 a quintal on better demand.
Sugar: A firm-to-upward trend was witnessed on improved demand. Small-grade sugar (S-30) climbed up to Rs 1,385-1,415 a quintal against the previous level of Rs 1,380-1,410 on limited arrivals. Medium-grade (M-30) firmed up to 1,430-1,490 a quintal (Rs 1,430-1,475).
