Groundnut oil weakened by Rs 3 at Rs 352 per 10 kg on against modest arrivals. The arrivals of imported goods remained brisk and the trading volume was quite thin. Out-of-state orders indicated a subdued trend.
Castor oil commercial and FSG qualities looked up by Re 1 each to Rs 305 and Rs 317 per 10 kg, respectively. Sesame oil dropped by Rs 5 to Rs 260 per 10 kg. Imported RBD palmolein eased by Rs 2 at Rs 206 per 10 kg.
Sugar: Small-grade sugar (S-30) firmed up further to Rs 1,480/1,510 a quintal against its previous level of Rs 1,480/1,505 on improved consumer demand on account of festivals.

Medium-grade (M-30) advanced further to Rs 1,510/1,535 a quintal against its previous level of Rs 1,505/1,535. Sugar prices for check-post were quoted lower at Rs 1,463/1,475 a quintal for S-30 grade and Rs 1495/1505 for the medium grade yesterday.
Non-ferrous metals: An easy-to-steady trend witnessed in the non-ferrous metals. In scraps, copper heavy scraps and brass utensils declined by 25 paise and 50 paise to Rs 128 and Rs 96 a kg, respectively.
Meanwhile, all the other metals ruled overall steady and were nominally quoted as under : copper utensils Rs 110, brass sheetcuttings Rs 103 and aluminium utensils Rs 76 a kg, respectively.
In virgins, nickel cathodes and lead ingots looked up by Rs 5 and by 50 paise to Rs 560 and Rs 41.50 a kg, respectively. Meanwhile, all the other metals were nominally quoted: copper wirebar Rs 152.50, aluminium ingots Rs 92.50, zinc slabs Rs 92.50 and tin slabs Rs 381 a kg, respectively.
Bullion: Silver .999 and .916 advanced by Rs 15 and Rs 10 to Rs 8,140 and Rs 8,010 a kg, respectively. Standard gold and 22 carat gold prices advanced by Rs 35 and Rs 30 to Rs 4,575 and Rs 4,230 per 10 gm, respectively, on strong local offtake due to festival season. Gold biscuits prices ruled firm too and gained further Rs 300 to Rs 53,500 per piece.
