The Naukri Job Speak index for the month of July 2016 stood at 1,882, recording a three per cent increase in hiring activity over July 2015. ITES (information technology enabled service) recorded an impressive 46 per cent year-on-year (YoY) growth, health care is up by 23 per cent followed by auto/auto ancillary at 17 per cent whereas IT (information technology)-software and telecom reported 21 per cent and 32 per cent decline respectively in the July 2016 index.
Demand for professionals in ITES has grown remarkably, whereas, IT-software and IT-hardware showed downward movement of 14 per cent and 15 per cent respectively. Among the metros, Chennai is the only city which witnessed an upward movement of seven per cent in the latest index.
Cities such as Delhi/NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru and Hyderabad recorded decline respectively in the YoY chart of Naukri Job Speak Index for July 2016. According to V Suresh, chief sales officer of Naukri.com, after an impressive 22 per cent YoY growth in June 2016, although the index for July showed a muted growth of just three per cent, the slow and steady growth in non-IT sectors such auto, hospitality, education and health care augured well.
