With every passing day, trading interest at the bourses is on the rise. This is indicated by the increase in net outstanding positions. At the end of yesterday's trading, the net outstanding position had jumped by another Rs 100 crore. Even after discounting the Tuesday factor, the increase in net outstanding position looks to be on the higher side. Also, when one takes into account the measly FII figure for Monday, it looks as if the market has entered a cooling period before its next run.
Optimists, on the other hand point to the fact that, despite it being the settlement day at the NSE, the market remained firm. This indicates that the undertone is still firm.
Powering ahead
One stock that has been quietly moving up the charts during the past couple of trading sessions is Wartsila NSD. Yesterday, it touched the day's high of Rs 297 on the BSE.
