For better business with Israel, businessmen here must think in terms of quality, not quantity, said Israeli consul-general Walid Mansour. He said though Israel was a small market in itself, it held tremendous opportunities for Indian traders who could also use it as a gateway to major world markets.
Diamonds are a high value item for exports to Israel. Mansour suggested possibilities in the field of medicine, computers and software. Israeli exports to India include agriculture technology and telecom products.
Mansour, who recently took over charge in Mumbai, pointed to some success stories in joint efforts. He said he had just met a team of 20 Israeli experts, who had built 50 greenhouses in Bangalore. These would begin exporting flowers to Europe in one month's time.
The knowledge obtained by years of Israeli research in agriculture could particularly suit India, he felt. It is suitable for all parts of India. We have almost every climatic zone back home
