Karnataka will do all it can to bring in fresh funds from German investors and will make sure of transparency and quick disposal from the state government, minister for medium and large scale industries and infrastructure development, Karnataka, R V Deshpande promised a German delegation visiting Bangalore.
The minister was speaking at a round table confernece organised by the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Mysore Chamber of Industry (GMCI). The business delegation is accompanying German foreign minister Joschka Fischer on his trip to India.
Members of the delegation include the chairman of the Airline Board and the chief operations officer, Lufthansa German Airlines, K F Rausch. The delegation is headed by the director general for economic affairs, foreign office, Joachim Broudre-Groger.

Udo E Land, national president, Indo-German Chamber of Commerce, said they are aware there is growing competition among all the states in India and with its rich human resource in terms of high education level. Bangalore is a choice destination for German investors. At present there are 80 agreements and joint ventures between the two countries.
"Germany needs people skilled in IT to work for their companies. This is somthing India and especially Karnataka has to offer. We have the potential to make the software products that they need right here in India," chairman International Trade & Foreign Investment Committee, GMCI, K M Mathur said. "Till now we have had links with Germany in light engineering but we hope to work together on bio-tech, power, IT, auto, machine tools, petrochem, energy etc."
Lufthansa has also promised to start direct flights from the Bangalore International Airport very soon. The governemnt is hoping that the flights will start before the global investors' meet that is scheduled to be held in June.
Deshpande also promised to provide better infrastructure and power to the investors, which seemed to be the main difficulty faced by Germen companies in India.
