Memory Plus, a memory enhancing drug developed by the Central Drug Research Institute (CDRI), appears to be well entrenched in public memory. The drug has notched up impressive sales during its first three months of launch.

According to CDRI scientists some Rs 10 lakh worth packets were sold in the metros where it was initially launched. Backed by an intensive campaign, Memory Plus claims to have attracted consumer attention for its unusual properties of enhancing the memory.

The scientists said the drug was launched just before the examination season which made students go for it in a major way. Manufactured by Velvette International Pharma Products which has bought the CDRI know-how, the drug is hailed as a miracle of the Indian ayurveda system of medicine.

Flush with the success of the drug in the Indian market, the company is planning to launch Memory Plus in Europe and the CIS.
