IIS Infotech Ltd, part of the United Kingdom-based FI Group plc and a member of DSDM Consortium, yesterday announced that it will be launching training, accreditation and consultancy services for DSDM (dynamic systems development method).
DSDM, in alliance with Nasscom, will help India take its software industry to the next level of competitiveness as well as help the local business deploy quality software solutions expeditiously.
"The DSDM Consortium decided nine months ago to focus on India and as part of the initiative the first series of seminars on DSDM for the current year is scheduled to be held in Delhi later this month," George Hall, chief operating officer of IIS Education Solutions, and a representative of the FI Group plc on IIS Infotech board, said yesterday.

DSDM is a non-proprietary rapid action development method which has been developed through capturing the experiences of a large consortium of vendor and user organisations.
DSDM Consortium India is a non-profit organisation which has been registered as a co-operative in India.
The Consortium members in India are MBT, IIS Infotech Ltd, Value Software, Chennai and IBM, Bangalore.
Hall pointed out that for DSDM the consortium is focussing on various sectors, including the corporates and government organisations. "We feel that DSDM should be a business-driven method," he added.
Pointing out that the DSDM methodology can be used in a variety of sectors, Hall said it is most effective in projects where high quality interface is needed, user-groups are clearly defined, where computationally complex parts can be isolated, where large projects can be split into components, where time constraints exist, and where the requirements are unclear or volatile.
A large number of projects by FI Group plc are being done as per the DSDM methodology.
DSDM is based on nine simple principles that actively involve users in developing their own business systems. It provides framework which enables users and developers to work side-by-side collaboratively.
The key techniques used in DSDM are user involvement, time-boxing and facilitated workshops. The DSDM Consortium membership includes both user and vendor organisations and is a de facto industry standard, Hall said.
