The secretaries have been assigned specific districts to file reports in a week's time.
On the basis of these reports, an up-to-date position paper would be prepared, a copy of which would be submitted to the Centre.
According to the preliminary reports available here, more than 50 per cent of the kharif crop in 10 out of 30 districts has been effected due to either prolonged dry spell or erratic rainfall.
State revenue minister K C Lanka had recently said the government had been unable to do anythingt as district collectors have not filed reports on the drought condition in their areas despite several reminders.
The non-cooperation of the district collectors delayed the government effort to prepare a report on the issue for submission to the Centre asking assistance, he said.
A state cabinet met on Saturday to discuss the large-scale crop loss in the state and initiate measures to rescue affected farmers and agricultural labourers.

A high-level committee has been formed under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister to review the situation every 15 days. An official committee headed by the chief secretary would take stock of the situation this week.
The ministers have been asked to keep a close watch on the progress of various measures undertaken in the districts.
The Chief Minister announced a subsidy of 75 per cent on water cess which would be given to farmers using lift irrigation points. He said the government has earmarked Rs 50 crore for repair of 400 such 11 points and installation of new ones before the ensuing rabi season. Besides, Rs 20 crore would be released from the natural calamities fund.
The Chief Minister said steps have been taken to provide alternative source of income to agricultural labourers. Work is being provided under various poverty alleviation schemes of the panchayatraj department.
The Chief Minister said the government would set up rural haats at various places to provide essential food stuff in affected areas.
He criticised the current norm of declaring an area drought-affected only on the basis of crop cutting results, saying the government was unable to declare any part drought-affected officially as the crop cutting results were only expected in November.
The Chief Minister rejected the opposition's demand to convene a special assembly session to discuss the drought situation.
