Pivotals Stage Partial Recovery As Mixed Trend Prevails

NSE REPORT

Pivotal prices witnessed a mixed trend with alternate bouts of buying and selling on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) yesterday. The NSE-50 index opened at 1,124.90 points, touched the days high of 1,133.40 points, registered a low of 1,122.60 points and finally closed at 1,125.70, showing a net gain of 9.60 points as against its previous weeks close of 1.116.10 points.

Similarly, the Midcap index closed higher at 1,262.30 points over last weeks close of 1,252.05, gaining 10.25 points. The total turnover on the exchange was Rs 1,826.15 crore involving 535.53 lakh shares and number of trades were 1,47,813. While the total turnover at the debenture segment was Rs 100.88 lakh.

Among the top gainers for the day were HDFC Bank, HDFC, ITC, Bajaj Auto and Hindalco. While the losers included Mahindra & Mahindra, IFCI, MRPL, MTNL and Ashok Leyland.

Hectic trading was witnessed led by ITC with total turnover of Rs 857.23 crore followed by RIL Rs 308.81 cr, Tata Tea Rs 204.27 cr, SBI-N Rs 121.27 cr, Saytam Comp Rs 30.45 cr, Castrol Rs 26.42 cr, Tisco Rs 24.98 cr, ACC Rs 24.91 cr, Hind Lever Rs 21.34 cr, Bajaj Auto Rs 21.31, Telco Rs 20.6 cr, Bhel Rs 17.49 cr, ICICI Bank Rs 13.22 cr, L&T Rs 9.89 cr, Hero Honda Rs 8.1 crore, Sundar Mfin Rs 5.77 cr, Ponds Rs 5.10 cr, HDFC Rs 4.97 cr, Guj Amb Cem Rs 4.96 cr, Colgate Rs 4.82 cr, Rel Capital Rs 4.57 cr, ICICI Rs 4.20 cr, Infosystch Rs 4.14 cr, MTNL Rs 3.66 cr, Tata Infotch Rs 3.33. Meanwhile, share prices at Over the Counter Exchange of India (Otcei) gained moderately on partial buying support from bull operators and financial institutions. The Otcei composite index closed at 110.31 points, making a marginal gain of 0.34 points as against its previous close of 109.97 points.
