The Prime Ministers Office yesterday allocated jobs to different people. Pramod Mahajan, political advisor to the Prime Minister, Atal Behari Vajpayee, will assist him from time to time in matters relating especially to politics, while policy issues are to be routed through principal secretary Brajesh Mishra.
Sources in the PMO said Sudheendra Kulkarni, who was tipped to be the media adviser, has been appointed director, research, in the PMO. Kulkarni will do research on inter-sectoral and inter-ministerial issues and also assist in providing inputs for Prime Ministers speeches.
According to a Vajpayee aide, the Prime Minister is unlikely to appoint a media advisor. Kulkarni has been attached to joint secretary Javed Usmani, a 1978 batch UP Cadre IAS, who is already providing inputs for Prime Ministers speeches.
