The Indian powerloom exports are poised to increase by over Rs 45 crore during this year. This is the result of the two weeks visit by the trade delegation under Powerloom Development & Export Promotion Council (Pdexcil) to South Asian countries and participation at the Interstoff Asia Fair in Hong Kong.
The 12-member delegation led by Vijay Manek, convenor of the Export panel of Powerloom Development & Export Promotion Council that visited Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Hongkong and Bangkok are stated to have received good response for Indian grey farbrics, including high density grey fabrics, yarn dyed fabrics, piece dyed fabrics, processed fabrics, towels and made-ups.
In Powerloom Development & Export Promotion Council powerloom weavers show held in the Interstoff Asia Fair, Hong Kong between April 7 and April 9, 1997 over thirty powerloom weavers displayed around 1,000 samples.

They received 30 enquiries for grey fabrics, yarn dyed fabrics, processed fabrics, towels and made ups.
These enquires are likely to generate additional exports of Rs 25 crore during the year.
