Cotton prices continued to rally as unseasonal rains limited arrivals of new crop for mills seeking supplies, traders said.
In the spot deals, Bengal deshi rose by Rs 25/50 to Rs 1,175/1,220 per maund (37.32 kg) while Punjab saw-ginned rose by Rs 15 to Rs 1,750/1,930 per maund.
"Late rain may reduce crop size and may deteriorate quality of new crop cotton," they said.

Meanwhile, Gujarat varieties were mixed as long-staple cotton was steady and medium-staple varieties were firm..
Gujarat Sankar-4 was quiet at Rs 20,000/20,500 per candy while Kalyan cotton rose by Rs 100 to Rs 14,900/15,000.
Wagad rose by Rs 300 to Rs 13,500 per candy.
