NSE REPORT
The wholesale debt market at the NSE clocked trading volumes of Rs 767.54 crore of which the treasury bills accounted to Rs 75 crore yesterday. Trading in the corporate debenture segment accounted to Rs 180.98 lakh.
There was buying interest across the board for securities at varying maturities. However, demand for treasury bills was at low due to the call rates ruling at a higher level of nine per cent, said a broker at the NSE.

The 10.85 per cent government loan maturing in 2001 was in demand and accounted to 20 trades showing a volume of Rs 130 crore. This paper was traded at the weighted yield of 9.95 per cent, at the low of Rs 102.41 and high of Rs 102.87 before closing at Rs 102.45.
The 12.59 per cent government loan maturing in 2004 showed at trading volume Rs 95 crore and accounted to 18 trades at the NSE screen. The paper was traded at the weighted yield of Rs 10.69 per cent, at the low of 108.55, high of Rs 109.00 and closed at Rs 108.82 for the day. The 11.19 per cent government loan maturing in 2005 was traded for Rs 45 crore at the weighted yield of 10.72 per cent, at the low of Rs 102.20 and high of Rs 102.40 for the day.
