Rs 435 cr Nabard aid for TN infra projects

The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) has sanctioned Rs 435.014 crore to Tamil Nadu under its Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF XVIII).

The money will be utilised to execute infrastructure projects in various sectors like irrigation, flood protection, rural connectivity and infrastructure facilities for backward classes, most backward classes and minorities hostels, said Lalitha Venkatesan, chief general manager, Nabard, Chennai.

An amount of Rs 63.175 crore has been sanctioned for for flood protection in Thiruvallur district and linking Parapikular Aliyar Project System to Upper Canal in Tiruppur district.

An amount of Rs 329.33 crore has been sanctioned for improvement of 514 rural roads in 31 districts among others.
