Sensex Gains 25 Points On Badla Hopes

The market was quite steady. Its a positive sign that it managed to hold onto its gains even on the last day, said Neeraj Roy, head of equities at Prime Broking.

The Tata Tea counter witnessed hectic activity yesterday and it closed at Rs 460.25 over the previous close of Rs 439 at the BSE. The market is hovering in a trading zone. Its only the speculative counters that are performing, said a dealer at a foreign securites firm.

Shares of textile and petrochemical firm Bombay Dyeing and Manufacturing Company Ltd jumped Rs 6 , or 6.5 per cent, to close at Rs 97 after the firm on Thursday announced an improved performance in the first four months of 1997-98
