ITC Ltd registered a market capitalisation of Rs 27,000 crore in May 1999, which is more than four times the May 1996 figure of Rs 6,200 crore. The earnings per share (EPS) grew to Rs 25.40 in 1998-99 compared with Rs 21.44 in 1997-98.
