Groundnut oil ruled overall steady at Rs 410 per 10 kg on steady offtake and moderate arrivals yesterday.
Sesame oil and copra oil white firmed up by Rs 5 each to Rs 335 and Rs 645 per 10 kg, respectively, on improved industrial buying against subdued availability. Castor oil commercial and BSS qualities eased by Rs 4 each to Rs 401 and Rs 413 per 10 kg, respectively.
Cottonseed oil- washed and refined qualities firmed up by Rs 2 each to Rs 300 and Rs 302 per 10 kg, respectively, on better industrial enquires. Imported palmolein edged up by Rs 3 at Rs 225 per 10 kg on moderate demand coupled with normal arrivals.

Castorseeds December contract opened Rs 11 lower at Rs 1,900 a quintal and firmed up to Rs 1,914. It eased to Rs 1,890 before closing to Rs 1,914 on speculative movements.
Castor oil international contracts _ December 1999 and February 2000 _opened Rs 7 lower at Rs 425 and Rs 429 per 10 kg, respectively, and held overall steady at the same level.
Castor seeds Madras and Maharashtra declined by Rs 20 each to Rs 1,855 and Rs 1,849 per quintal, respectively.
Meanwhile, all the other oilseeds ruled overall steady on narrow movements.
Sugar: Improved demand as against limited availability of stock firmed up sugar prices here yesterday. Both the grades ruled upward-to-firm.
Small-grade sugar (S-30) firmed up to Rs 1,140-1,428 a quintal against the previous level of Rs 1,395-1,410, while medium-grade (M-30) improved to Rs 1,425-1,490 a quintal against the previous level of Rs 1,430-1,445 on firm offtake. However, check-post deliveries quoted lower at Rs 1,397-1,410 a quintal for small grade and Rs 1,412-1,455 for medium grade.
