Sujit Sen, vice-president, HRD & IR, has also decided to end his tenure with the beleaguered liquor company.According to company sources, Sen, who is on leave now, will not be with Shaw Wallace much longer.

Dipak Mitra, vice-president (legal), according to company sources, is also believed to have expressed his intention to leave the company. Mrinal Guha, a Mather & Platt executive, who was appointed as advisor, administration and HRD, has been sidelined, and may leave the company. Guha, who was based in Mumbai, was sent to Calcutta last week to fight the current crisis.

It is believed that Guha had recorded his discussions with unions and then tried to blackmail them. Swaminathan's decision could have been prompted by the fact that the deregistration of Calcutta Chemicals from the BIFR has paved the way for the sale of the consumer products division, after the execution of which he might not be needed by SWC.
