NSE REPORT
The Wholesale Debt Market at the National Stock Exchange clocked a trading volume of Rs 344.40 crore of which the treasury bills segment witnessed trades worth Rs 35 crore. The corporate debenture segment witnessed active trading with 603 trades being reported showing a volume of Rs 338.89 lakh.
Prices of the government securities were very volatile during the day, observed brokers at the NSE.

The 10.85 per cent government loan maturing in 2001 was in demand witnessing 12 trades and contributing to a volume worth Rs 70 crore. The paper was traded at a weighted yield of 10.43 per cent, at the low of Rs 101, high of Rs 101.30 and closed at 101.10 for the day.
The 11.15 per cent government loan maturing in 2002 saw six trades, contributing to volume of Rs 30 crore. It was traded at the weighted average yield of 10.71 per cent, a low of Rs 101.35 and closed at the high of Rs 101.71.The 11.83 per cent government loan maturing in 2003 was traded for Rs 30 crore at the weighted average yield of 10.84 per cent. It was traded for a low of Rs 103.85 and closed at the high of Rs 104.10.
In treasury bills segment, the 364 days bill maturing on October 9, 1998 was traded for Rs 35 crore at the weighted yield of 8.27 per cent.
