Tata Infotech Net Up 59% To Rs 34.33 Cr

Tata Infotech Ltd has posted a 59 per cent rise in net profit for 1997-98 to Rs 34.33 crore, against the previous year's figure of Rs 21 crore. The company's turnover has increased 55 per cent to Rs 330 crore. Depreciation costs are up by about 50 per cent to Rs 9 crore, while the tax burden has increased to Rs 52 crore against Rs 35 crore last year. The company has declared a dividend of Rs 6 per share -- the same as last year. Tata Infotech claims to have retained its position as the leader in software exports. Net sales were Rs 206 crore last year.
