Brisk imports against low demand led to groundnut oil ruling easy-to-steady at Rs 363 per 10 kg, while most of the other edible oils ruled downward-to-steady at the wholesale oils and oilseeds market yesterday.
In other oils, sesame and karanji oil declined by Rs 5 and Rs 10 to Rs 310 and Rs 210 per 10 kg, respectively. Castor oil commercial and BSS qualities improved by Rs 3 each to Rs 378 and Rs 390 per 10 kg, respectively. Kardi oil eased by Rs 3 to Rs 415 per 10 kg. Imported palm olein looked up by Rs 2 at Rs 233 per 10 kg.
In futures, September contract opened Rs 7 lower at Rs 1,760 a quintal and ruled steady. It declined and closed at Rs 1,755 a quintal.
Castor oil international contract August'99 opened Re 1 up at Rs 393 per 10 kg and ruled steady throughout, whereas October'99 contract opened at Rs 399 per 10 kg. In oilseeds, castorseeds Madras and Maharashtra improved by Rs 15 each to Rs 1,740 and Rs l,734 per quintal,
