At Rs 32.62 crore, Bachchan senior barely made it to the list top 10 earners for 2016. But his goodwill, along with his evergreen stardom, has helped him comfortably retain second place in this list. 



Salman Khan

The Indian captain is the undisputed king of the advertising market with more than 10 brands in his kitty. He recently signed an eight-year deal with Puma worth Rs 110-crore. 
Kohli was 2016’s top earner.

Net worth: Rs 226.8 crore


Despite being out with injury for a major part of the 2016 season, Rohit Sharma still managed to make Rs 24.17 crore during the course of the year. Who knows, he may be the next big thing after Kohli.

The Punjab southpaw still continues to be a great story. With a couple of new endorsements coming his way, Yuvraj made Rs 16 crore last year. He recently made another comeback into the Indian team.

With an estimated wealth of almost Rs 30,000 crore, Jagtiani, the owner of the Dubai-based Landmark group, is the second richest NRI on the list. Jagtiani suspended all Donald Trump-branded products last year after the American President made anti-Muslim remarks.

M A Yusuf Ali
MANAGING DIRECTOR, LULU GROUP
Net worth: Rs 26,650 crore

M A Yusuf Ali, the managing director of Abu Dhabi-based LuLu Group, owns 129 stores across Asia and Egypt. He has also made a $300 million investment in Trivandrum, which includes malls and shopping centres.

Net worth: Rs 3,000 crore

Notwithstanding stiff competition from Uber, Bhavish Aggarwal’s Ola is going strong. The 30-year-old is the youngest entrepreneur on this list.
Divyank and Bhavin Turakhia
FOUNDERS, DIRECTI  Net worth: Rs 3,000 crore

The Turakhia brothers, the founders of Directi, feature on this list on the back of the sale of their Media.net, a unit of Directi, to a group of Chinese investors.

 

Kunal Bahl
CEO, SNAPDEAL
Net worth: Rs 2,300 crore

Despite recent difficulties, mainly the competition from rivals Amazon and Flipkart, the Snapdeal founder’s net worth has remained steady. Until recently, Bahl was one of the best-paid start-up CEOs in the country.
