Traded Volume Dips To Rs 380.33 Crore

The wholesale debt segment of the National Stock Exchange witnessed a fall in the number of trades and volumes yesterday. The segment reported 62 trades and volumes worth Rs 380.33 crore. In the treasury bill segment, volumes amounted to Rs 60 crore.

The large number of trades continued to be in the 11.75 per cent 2006 government loan. The price of the security came down compared to yesterday and the yield on the security was marginally up. The paper saw 11 trades and contributed to a volume of Rs 90 crore. It was traded at the weighted average yield of 11.68 per cent, at the low of Rs 100.25 and a high of Rs 100.40. There was a slight dip in price towards close and the last traded price was Rs 100.36.

The 11 per cent government loan maturing on 2002 witnessed five trades for Rs 40 crore at the weighted average yield of 11.06 per cent. The paper was traded in the range of Rs 100.10- Rs 100.11. The 11.25 per cent government loan maturing on 2005 saw 4 trades for a volume of Rs 21 crore at the weighted average yield of 11.47 per cent.

The 364 day T-bill maturing on August 15 was traded for Rs 60 crore at the weighted average yield of 7.50 per cent. The commercial papers of Telco and Tisco maturing on July 23 and July 20, respectively were traded at an yield of 10.5 per cent.
