Traded Volume Dips To Rs 85.38 Crore

NSE REPORT

Trading volumes at the wholesale debt market of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) crushed to a low of Rs 85.37 crore yesterday. Of this, the debenture segment accounted to trades worth 581.41 lakhs.

The inter-bank call money rates moved in the 8.25 per cent to 9.25 per cent range.

Volumes at the NSE debt segment have remained subdued for few days as the call money rate have firmed up, said a broker at NSE.

The 12.59 per cent government loan maturing in 2004 was in demand and was traded for Rs 25 crore. There were five trades reported for the paper in the Rs 104.35-104.40 band at a weighted yield of 11.61 per cent.

There were two trades in the 13.65 per cent government loan maturing in 1998 at a weighted yield of 9.25 per cent.

The 364-days treasury bill maturing in April 24, 1998, witnessed trades worth Rs 20 crore in a single deal at a weighted yield of 8.60 per cent.

In the corporate debenture segment, a bulk deal worth Rs 520 lakh was reported for the 14 per cent Reliance 2000 paper for Rs 52. The zero per cent Reliance Petro was in demand, reporting 328 trades worth Rs 50 lakh.
