The wholesale debt market segment of the National Stock Exchange witnessed trades worth Rs 137.20 crore yesterday.
This was higher than the previous days volumes of Rs 61.05 crore. The 91-day T-bills maturing on the 29th of this month were traded for Rs 40 crore at 6.86 per cent.

The certificates of deposit issued by TimesBank, maturing on May 5, 1997, was traded at 9.50 per cent. Repo deals were concluded in 13.40 per cent 1999 government loan for Rs 10 crore at 7 per cent and 7.25 per cent each.
The 11.64 per cent 2000 government loan was dealt for Rs 17.50 crore at 13.28 per cent. The total value of repos traded during the day stood at Rs 20 crore.
Being reporting Friday, the inter-bank call rates ruled at lower levels. Dealers, however, expect the call rates to open today in the region of 6 to 7 per cent.
There is not much buying interest as everybody has adopted a wait and watch policy, said a dealer with a private bank.
Corporate debentures were traded for Rs 26.72 lakh on the exchange yesterday. The Tisco SPN 1999 witnessed the largest number of trades at Rs 16.86 lakh.
