Trading Volumes Slide To Rs 120.32 Crore

The reporting Friday witnessed trades worth Rs 120.32 crore yesterday at the wholesale debt market segment of the National Stock Exchange.

The call rates ruled at very low levels of 0.1 per cent to 1 per cent.

The 13.40 per cent central government security maturing in 1999 saw the maximum turnover with deals worth Rs 15 crore being struck at 12.95 per cent yield. A Rs 10-crore deal was struck in the security at Rs 101.55.

This deal is to be settled the same day. Another Rs 5-crore deal was struck for the same price and this transaction is to be settled after one day. The 13.70 per cent gilt maturing in 1999 also witnessed a deal for Rs 5 crore struck at Rs 102.68. This deal is to be settled after one day.

The 12 per cent gilt maturing in 1999 was traded for Rs 10 crore at 12.66 per cent. This deal is to be settled the same day and saw a price of Rs 99.75.

The 91-day treasury bill maturing on March 1 was traded for Rs 10 crore at 6.50 per cent yield. This security was dealt at Rs 99.75 and is to be settled after one day.

The 364-day treasury bill maturing on August 15 was wrapped up for Rs 15 crore at Rs 101.40. This deal is to be settled after one day.

Among other securities that saw active trading was the 14 per cent gilt maturing in 2005.
