The wholesale debt market of the National Stock Exchange witnessed trades worth Rs 262.37 crore yesterday.
The 13.40 per cent 1999 government loan was traded for Rs 40 crore at 12.73 per cent while the 13.50 per cent 1997 government loan saw total trades of Rs 47 crore at 9.86 per cent.

The inter-bank rate opened in the range of 5-5.75 per cent and then dropped to 3.50-4 per cent on account of increased liquidity.
There was a net inflow of over Rs 3,100 crore into the system.
The total traded value of corporate debentures on the exchange amounted to Rs 5.27 crore of which the 14 per cent Reliance debentures maturing in 2000 witnessed trades worth Rs 4.76 crore with dealers remaining bullish on the market movement.
Interestingly, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) reintroduced the 13.65 per cent 1999 security which opened at Rs 102.60.
This is higher than the price in the earlier sale list when the Reserve Bank of India had fixed the price at 102.35.
The central bank has withdrawn the 12 per cent 1999 security from the market.
