The wholesale debt market segment of the National Stock Exchange witnessed trades worth Rs 75.26 crore yesterday.
The 13.62 per cent 1998 government loan was traded for Rs 15 crore at 11.61 per cent while the 12 per cent 1999 government stock was traded for Rs 10 crore at 12.62 per cent. The market is expected to witness hectic trading in short term central government securities during the week.

The inter-bank call rate opened at 4.50-5 per cent levels and closed lower in the range of 3-3.50 per cent at the end of the day.
Call rates are however expected to come under pressure during the week on account of the advance tax outflow that will take place. Brokers, however, expect the rates to drop soon after the advance tax payments.
The 364-day treasury bill maturing on May 23, 1997 was traded at 8.15 per cent and the zero coupon 2000 government bond was traded at 13.25 per cent.
Corporate debentures saw trades amounting to Rs 43.92 lakh on the exchange. The zero per cent 2001 Reliance Petro debenture witnessed trades worth Rs 21.79 lakh while the Tisco SPN 1999 saw trades worth Rs 7.37 lakh.
