Treasury Bills See Rs 12.65-Cr Deals

The Wholesale Debt Market segment at the National Stock Exchange clocked a trading volume of Rs 201.46 crore of which the treasury bill segment clocked a volume of Rs 12.65 crore.

The commercial paper segment saw two trades worth Rs 5 crore each. The CP of Reliance maturing on July 6, 1998 was traded for Rs 99.82 at the yield of 9 per cent and that of Telco maturing July 8, 1998 was traded for Rs 99.77 at the yield of 8.99 per cent.

Although the prices of the securities moved up by nearly 10 piase across the board, the day did not see much trading interest. Only 34 trades were reported on which only 26 trades were done in government securities.

The 11.64 per cent government loan maturing on 2000 saw six trades and was traded for Rs 30 crore at the weighted average yield of 11.12 per cent. The 13.40 per cent government loan maturing on 1999 was traded for Rs 55 crore at the weighted average yield of 10.73%.

The 14 per cent taxable bonds of Ahmedabad Electricity bonds were traded for Rs 1.50 crore at the weighted average yield of 15.15 per cent. 13.65 per cent government loan maturing on 1999 was traded for Rs 35 crore at the weighted average yield of 10.09 per cent.
