Treasury Bills Traded For Rs 40 Crore

The wholesale debt market at the National Stock Exchange clocked trading volumes of Rs 323.42 crore of which the treasury bills segment accounted for trading volume of Rs 40 crore yesterday.

"The market witnessed very thin trading volume due as market players were expecting prices of the government securities to fall in order to execute some trades," said a NSE broker.

The 11.15 per cent government loan maturing in 2002 was traded for Rs 40 crore at the weighted yield of 10.29 per cent. The paper was traded at the low of Rs 103.14 and high of Rs 103.23 for the day.

The 10.25 per cent government loan maturing on 2012 was trade for Rs 40 crore at the weighted yield of 11.55 per cent. The 10.85 per cent government loan maturing in 2001 was traded for Rs 40 crore at the weighted yield of 9.90 per cent.

There were 59 trades done in the government securities segment for volume of Rs 323.42 crore and 407 trades done in the corporate debenture segment for Rs 68.57 lakh.

In the corporate debentures segment, the zero per cent Reliance Petro maturing 2001 was in demand accounting for a trade volume of Rs 55.31 lakh.
