Take a Max 100 R, retrofit it with contemporary, sporty body panels with funky stickering and improved switchgear, and you have a Samurai. Not much has changed here except cosmetically, and this again is a `no problem' motorcycle. The racy looks appeal to the urban lot, and combined with the powertrain's proven reliability and consistent fuel economy, makes this a very attractive buy to the officer-goer. Though the Samurai looks streamlined and purposeful, it is no spirited performer and will easily lose to most other two-strokers in a spirit. Because of its comparatively short wheelbase, it suffers from a lack of stability and feels twitchy at higher speeds. Eminently flickable if you are pro-rider, though. More than anything else, the Samurai is a great packaging exercise that spelt success for TVS when badly needed. Close your eyes and buy the bike. You won't regret it.
