A Philadelphia-based insurance company, CIGNA International, has entered India with the opening of a liaison office in New Delhi. CIGNA expects to deliver to Indian consumers a variety of insurance coverages including health care and medical insurance , sources said.
It sees a growing market for risk management benefits programmes designed for the Indian operations of multinationals headquartered elsewhere. India is top priority for us in terms of market development, an official said. CIGNA received permission to o pen the New Delhi office from the Reserve Bank of India late last year. The firm has appointed Aloke Gupta as its chief representative in India.
