Zero Coupon 1999 Dealt For Rs 62 Cr

NSE REPORT

The wholesale debt market segment of NSE saw buying interest yesterday with the call rate going down to 5 per cent. The WDM recorded a total volume of Rs 287.27 crore, over Rs 50 crore higher than the previous day.

There were lot of demand in the zero coupon counters. Zero coupon 1999 was dealt for Rs 62 crore and it gained 11 paise after having lost three paise the previous day. It traded between Rs 97.25-30, giving a weighted yield of 10.21 per cent.

The new 11.40 2000 government loan also gained 10 paise over its previous close, yielding 11.43 per cent on trades worth Rs 15 crore.

All zero coupon 2000 papers accounted for an overall trade of Rs 50 crore. The zero coupon 2000 (III) saw trades worth Rs 15 crore at a weighted yield of 11.49 per cent.

There were 14-day repo deals done in the 11.40 per cent 2000 gilt worth Rs 10 crore and in the 11.50 per cent 2004 worth Rs 50 crore at 8.85% and 8.55% respectively. The 12.50% non-SLR bond from IDBI maturing 1999 was traded for Rs 8 crore at weighted yield of 12.58%.

In the debenture market the total volume was low at Rs 37.34 crore with Rs 31.12 crore coming from zero coupon 2001 Reliance Petro bonds at a weighted yield of 18.10 per cent.

Essar Oils' 14 per cent 2003 was traded at a yield of 24.83 per cent but the trade volume was low at Rs 0.87 crore.
