Seamer Usman Khan picked up three wickets in an over as Pakistan dismissed minnows Hong Kong for a paltry 116 in a group A match of the Asia Cup. Catch Pakistan vs Hong Kong live score updates here
In today’s Asia Cup 2018 match, Pakistan will begin their campaign with a clash against Hong Kong, a team that has done exceptionally well to make a place in Top 6 cricket teams in Asia after beating Nepal and the United Arab Emirates, two teams with ODI status. The Asia Cup is the third-biggest ODI tournament in the world, given the number of viewers in the continent and the passion of the followers far outstrips any other regional fan base. This would be enough to encourage Hong Kong to show their mettle as they play their first Asia Cup fixture since 2008. Last time when Pakistan and Hong Kong met each other in 2008, Pakistan scored 288/9 in 50 overs after opting to bat first. They then wrapped-up Hong Kong for just 133 in the 38th over to win the match by a whopping 155 runs.

ICC gives ODI-status to both Hong Kong fixtures
Meanwhile, ICC has decided to accord One-Day International status to India and Pakistan's group league matches against Hong Kong in Asia Cup 2018. Hong Kong, an ICC associate member, is yet to get ODI status but have beaten Nepal, who recently earned the ODI status, to qualify for the Asia Cup. When a country doesn't have an ODI status, the matches aren't counted as official One-dayers. Stay tuned for Asia Cup highlights
